MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES
Therapeutic Massage focuses on manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques.
These techniques can be performed with deep pressure or lighter pressure and enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle tone and promote relaxation.
Stretching may also be performed to keep the muscle from tightening.
Relaxation Massage (aka Swedish Massage) is beneficial for relieving everyday stress, loosening any general tension in the muscles, increase circulation and giving an overall feeling of well-being.
Techniques used are lighter pressure with long gliding strokes, circular pressure, kneading and percussion-like tapping.
Sports massage is a form of massage therapy geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, prepare the body for athletic activity, maintain the muscles optimal conditions and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.
There are three basic forms of sports massage: pre-event massage, post-event massage and maintenance massage.
